Over the years I have been lucky enough to have been able to provide entertainment for a wide variety of audiences and in many different entertainment formats. Whilst many of these formats are currently available to take bookings the Country & Rock'n Roll bands sadly are unavailable at present. Current entertainment formats however - as you will see below, are quite varied and hopefully there will be something here to meet your entertainment needs.

Generally the formats currently available are as follows: -

Karen Lynne - Singer/Soloist
(Best suited to:- Festival Appearances, Variety/Country Show Guest appearances, Showcase Guest Spots, Weddings, Restaurants, Large Hotel/Resort Lounges, Cafes & Coffee Shops)

Pat Drummond & Karen Lynne Duo Show
(Best suited to: - Festivals, Club Lounge & Auditorium Concerts & Shows, Feature spots for Corporate Functions, Casinos, House Concerts, Resort & Hotel Lounges/Bars and Variety/Sporting/Social Club fundraiser events where a dinner & show-type event is preferred)

Karen Lynne & Acoustic Shock Bluegrass Band
(Best suited to:- Festivals, Club Lounges and Concerts, Pubs, Parties and Feature spots at Corporate Functions)

Old Time & Country Music Duo - Karen Lynne & Barry Thompson
(Best suited to:- Older audiences, day-type shows catering for passing Bus tour groups, Restaurants, Merry Melodies/Singalong Shows, Bowling & RSL Club day functions and Old Time Dance nights)

Karen Lynne "Hit's & Classics" Duo
(Best Suited to:- Club Bars, Bistros & Lounges that require dance music & up market Pub venues)

As a soloist Karen is available for a number of situations. Most predominately as a "Walk up" Artist on Country Music shows where a chart reading backing band is available for her use. She has professional charts and for some songs will also play guitar. In this format she has played in many regular shows including the "Bill Kelly Show", "Cabravale Diggers Sunday Afternoon Country Show", "Canterbury Country" at Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL Club, "Buttercup open House" - Tamworth Country Music festival and has made similar appearances on a number of Award shows including the Independent Country Music Awards Night - Mildura, The TSA Songwriter Salute Awards Night - Tamworth, "Tamworth Country Theatre" show and the "CMAA New Talent Showcase" . These shows use many well-known country bands as Murrumbidgee Country Club, Hillbilly Heaven Band, Southern Steele, Ben McAuley's Raiders and the Lindsay Butler Showband.

She is also available as a soloist for Large Hotel/Resort Lounge/coffee shop-type areas and Restaurants where the music needs to be gentle and classy but not overbearing or intrusive. Karen uses midi files to assist her and the reportoire ranges from the gentler better known pop ballads such as Celine Dion's "Theme from Titanic" & The Corrs' "Runaway" to some great country ballads from the likes of Trisha Yearwood & Patsy Cline.

She is also available as a soloist for weddings and has a number of standard wedding songs in her reportoire. She is also available to learn a specifically chosen song although this sometimes requires an additional musician. As a general rule she can provide her own Sound System for these type of situations. (NB- soloist services for funerals are also available).

Finally she is available for Country & Folk Festivals and in this format she showcases a number of her original songs along with some wonderful interpretations of well known material from that genre. In these circumstances she may need to call on the services of a few competent backing musicians.

Acoustic Shock are Sydney's best Bluegrass Band. They are a traditional Bluegrass band consisting of Award winning musicians - Jim Rush on Guitar & Vocals, Nigel Lever on Mandolin & Vocals, Martin Louis on Banjo & Vocals and Quentin Fraser on Double Bass. They also feature a fiddle player where funding permits.

Their music is clean, three part harmony singing and hard driving traditional Bluegrass music. In more recent times they are joined by Karen Lynne who adds a dynamic albeit feminine touch with just a hint of Alison Kraus & Claire Lynnch. They have a great traditional percussionless yet addictive foot tapping sound and are great for festivals, pubs, parties or even corporate functions where dance music isn't appropriate and a showcase perfomance of traditional American Bluegrass music may be a real hit and distinctively different to a standard covers outfit.

They have in the past played at many varied venues including the National Folk Festival, Mt Beauty Folk Festival, Harriotville Bluegrass Convention and Illawarra Folk festival and have had regular gigs in such pubs as the Britannia Hotel, Sydney and the Longyard hotel, Tamworth. Whilst both solo performers in their own right, recent times have seen them having enormous success as a team. This is a pairing of two very different but complementary talents and whilst both great singer/songwriters, Karen is an exceptional singer and Pat an amazingly skillful songwriter & entertainer - sometimes his song introductions are just as long as his songs, and just as entertaining.

In receiving his recent Award for "Independent Entertainer of the Year" (Mildura Independent Country Music Awards) Pat has finally been recognised for his amazing ability to entertain his audience whilst, making them an integral part in the show. There's no doubt about it, he will make you laugh and cry, possibly all in the same hour!

Karen on the other hand is a singer with an incredibly sensitive - almost haunting at times, vocal quality. She breathes life into songs and brings them to life right before your eyes.

This show is suitable for Club Concert-type venues where the audience has come to relax and be entertained - rather than dance and get drunk. Also as most of the songs are original Australian material the show is well suited for Country & Folk music Festivals where the audience spans a wide range of age groups and have primarily come to listen. The show can also be presented in a shortened format and is a wonderful feature at Corporate functions & dinners where the need is to provide light but thought-provoking Australian entertainment at it's professional best. The duo is the most variable of all the formats. It is most suitable for Club lounges, Bars and Bistros. Consisting of male and female vocals, instruments & midifiles it's a duo that performs a wide range of familiar covers. The repertoire includes a wide range of hits and classic Rock 'n Roll over the years, including well known covers from the 50's right through to the 90's, from Artists such as Tina Arena, Celine Dion, John Cougar, Bryan Adams, the Eagles, the Beatles, Trisha Yearwood and many other country rock hits as well. A good fun, danceable selection of hits and classics that everyone is familiar with.

This format is the perfect choice for the older audience. Barry is a well known jazz & old time pianist. For this duo he competently uses an array of keyboard sounds and tempos in conjunction with midifile backing. Barry has a vast repertoire, playing not only a huge selection of those wonderful old songs from the 40's and 50's but many more contemporary pop ballads as well. Barry also specialises in Big Band style tunes and can provide music for old time dancing if required also.

Karen Lynne joins on 12-string guitar with the sweetest, gentlest vocals that you've heard in a long time. Her repertiore in this format is a lovely mix of many of those old country standards and favourites along with some familiar cabaret-style ballads from the likes of Streisand, Midler and Ronstadt.
