On the 27th November, 1999 I married my long time sweetheart, Martin Louis. Both of us having been musicians for a large part of our lives meant that it was going to be a truly musical wedding! Also, after having played in a Dance Band for many years and attending many weddings (aspaid gigs) I found them all so alike & predictable. They all seemed to be the same - all following the same pattern, going through the same boring rituals, I was determined to have something completely different.

Being true to form the Blue Mountains (where I now live) presented us with a freezing cold, misty, rainy morning and for an 11.00am wedding that wasn't a real good start! Then due to an overnight fire in the centre of town (causing us to detour for our hair appointments), lots of fog and a last minute change of venue for our photo shoot, the wedding party arrived 50 minutes late! The ceremony was moved to a little indoor gallery in the gorgeous Everglades Gardens grounds (instead of the outdoor glory of the garden itself), but if the truth be known, it really didn't matter. I honestly don't remember the rain, I don't even remember it being cold!

Some things I do remember. Firstly how wonderful it was to see so many of my family and good friends in the same place, my mum's beautiful speech, Marty's dad's wonderful speech, singing bluegrass music (with new hubby on banjo!) ... a special song for me from my sister, and my brother, and my nephews and niece! And even singing a special song for my hubby. Believe me this was no ordinary wedding!

It was a great day with lots of love, laughter, friends, family, cheescake, wine and music - and what music! -some Rock 'n Roll from Step Forward, some Bluegrass from Muddy River and Acoustic Shock, some Jazz from Liz & Quentin, some Folk from Pat, a little trumpet from Barton and some Digeridoo from Scott, and even some country music from me!
